hello, i have transas navi 5000; i have downloaded aio corrections from jrc web site as you sent. can i see whether those corrections is already on ecdis? if no; what should i do? how can i update ecdis or aio corrections? i have log with him

although the ecdis itself uses limited data through so called cluster files for specific areas, the ecdis components, for example, chart, magnetic or electronic chart, can be corrected and “stickerized” with some additional data, the so called clusters. navi-planner has the capability of managing these clusters through the use of xml.

a very powerful feature in navi-planner 4000 that makes navigation and planning extremely easy and safe is the ability to run any external route planning application via navi-planner automatic input. using navi-planner you can easily import routes you are using within the program, you can import routes from external route planning applications and you can even import routes you have created yourself on other route planning applications. this is all done within the navi-planner user interface itself.

the new navi-planner is of course not limited to route planning and passage planning alone and is extremely capable at navigating by way of vts which is very useful to avoid obstacles without having to calculate every turn and do calculating course corrections. in the chart view, detailed information about the surroundings is given and can be used to optimize the route to the new waypoint and so avoid objects, current and tides.

just as a side note, all of the new navi-planner editions come with the same current alert, navigation and information notifications as previous editions. this also applies for the seastar logbook program.

technology in the navi is the new standard to make safe navigation more effective. all vessels are provided with a ship secure system, the transas navi ecis. the ecis is connected to the onboard system (ais) of the vessel, where all important data is reported in real time. navi 2000 will automatically log a ship activity.

the transas navi-sailor sdk, along with the transas navi-sailor extension, ships in the sdk of transas navi-sailor 2000 and is delivered on all transas piloting systems. it is a vendor-neutral, java-based sdk that was developed by transas for a wide range of charting needs, including paper chart, electronic chart, chart overlay, navigation planning, vessels tracking.
the transas navi-sailor sdk provides a framework for the user to create his own custom chart types and overlays. custom chart types can be used in navi-planner or the transas navi-sailor extensions. they can be then installed on-board the transas navi-sailor 2000, 2000-m or 4000.
with the transas navi-sailor ecdis your master will not only be able to follow and follow, but will also be able to navigate around and through them. this will give you full control and easy navigation, especially when you think of the ils/sht/vhf help you could get from the ecdis and where you will be able to get the latest update on your ecdis display. the transas navi-sailor ecdis will also provide display of the ils/sht and vhf displays together with the assistance of the pilot information screen (pis) display. this eliminates human error and it really does make for a safe and comfortable environment.
