The absorption bands in the range of 1000–1300 cm^−1^ are assigned to the stretching of N–H, and –NH and the band at 2800 cm^−1^ arises due to the stretching of –C–H bond in the graphitic structure of g-C~3~N~4~ \[[@CR29], [@CR30]\]. In the FTIR spectrum of the g-C~3~N~4~/CD composite, the band around 1650 cm^−1^ corresponding to the C=N stretching vibration of g-C~3~N~4~ disappeared and two new peaks were observed at 1602 cm^−1^ and 1522 cm^−1^ which are assigned to the stretching vibration of -C=C- bending and vibration of C=C, respectively \[[@CR31]\].
