Symphonic Choirs is a high end and powerful orchestral instrument capable of recreating the sound of a real orchestra.
The idea behind Symphonic Choirs is to cover all musical aspects of a symphony orchestra, from the brass and strings to winds and percussions.

It wasnt until I got to the point where the Voxwiz library was released and improved that I started to use Vocalist all the time – Ive used it to compose my three main projects thus far. It was also around this time I started to look for a choir sound library. It wasnt till I got to the point in the review when I realised that for some people this library was a MUST HAVE that I started to search for more information about what HWC really is and what the WordBuilder is!

The insert effects, available on each mixer channel, include: an amp simulator; Ohmicide multiband distortion; an SSL channel strip with LP/HP filter, EQ, compressor, gate/expander, and transient shaper; SSL stereo bus compressor; and Plays convolution reverb.The FX buttons reveal insert effects for each channel strip. These comprise an amp simulator, Ohmicide multiband distortion, Plays convolution reverb, an SSL-licensed plug-in comprising HP/LP filter, EQ, compressor, gate/expander and transient shaper, and an SSL stereo bus compressor. One curiosity here is that although the Master On button ensures that changes to the master volume and reverb send level affect all parts of aWB Multi equally, it doesnt apply to the effects settings. This is problematic if you want to apply any of HWCs effects globally to the entire WordBuilder output, as there is no master out channel strip with its own effects insert. The only method Icould find was to set up the effects for one part, save it as apreset, and load that into the other 13 parts arather tedious approach, especially if you make any adjustments, which means you have to repeat that process all over again. Also, the transpose/tuning controls in the Master section only affect the currently selected part, but not all this is certainly something worth correcting.

Again, in Wordbuilder, words or phrases that you type can be sung by a Choir. But the really innovative feature is that this choir can be any size you wish. In fact, Wordbuilder provides it’s own comprehensive equation for calculating the number of word positions that can be pre-loaded. There are no limits to the number of words or phrases that can be loaded and played, or the total number of word positions in the Choir. The following example shows just how much this allows you to control. Imagine being able to record vocals in one of 50 different languages!
The key thing to understand about Choirs is that they are not “real” Choirs. The original intention was to make Choirs easy to add to your existing library, as a “patch suitable for serious choirs.” Almost every choir library on the market today includes an option to add a Choir to your existing library. This wordbuilder choirs adds the ability to add Choirs in any key, at any volume, and any number, without the need for a dedicated choir section.
You can use any combination of any number of Choirs, positioned anywhere in the keyboard, with any number of words being sung. You can configure the plugin so that the words stay on for the full duration of the phrase, or you can use the ‘Sequence’ button to create discrete phrases that are maintained throughout the sequence. The sequencer allows the user to automate the words to the sequence using MIDI controller events. This allows the user to create phrases by entering ‘0’ into the controller to trigger a phrase into the sequence, followed by entering any number of words, for example ‘0b0c0’, which would be sung by a choir of three phrases in a note for note sequence (0b0 = first phrase, 0c0 = second phrase, 0 = third phrase).
