Stiletto is intended for people who want a button bar task switcher/launcher and clock/calendar which always stays at the same place on the desktop and which lets them use any mouse button to run a command.
Stiletto is a simple tool that include alarms, task scheduling, sounds control, and wallpaper control: it handles all your desktop needs using a single consistent but unobtrusive interface.

Since it does not have the ability to add or change program manager icons or groups, Stiletto is not intended to completely replace Program Manager or another Windows shell that you are using, such as Norton Desktop for Windows (as specified by shell= in your system.ini file).
Instead, Stiletto is intended to provide quick, minimal-mouse click access to your most used commands while taking up little desktop space, and to provide utilities related to Windows start-up and time, all in one consistent package.

1. Please read the enclosed ReadMe file before installing Stiletto.
2. Stiletto is a free program and requires no registration to use, just send an e-mail to the project mailbox.
3. Stiletto can run on any system that can run a 64-bit operating system, such as Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8.
4. Stiletto will not change the way you use your mouse in the way that a program manager does.
5. Your new command buttons can be moved around the screen easily by dragging them in any way that is convenient for you.
6. To uninstall Stiletto, remove the Stiletto folder from your system directories.

The StilettoButtonBar is a simple button bar launcher which is placed over a window. You can use any mouse button to run commands, just like a standard button bar in Windows, and easily switch between the running programs just by clicking on the button bar.
From the Stiletto command launcher, you can also control your system date and time, view and change your desktop wallpaper and control the sound system.
To add a program or any other command, just drag and drop the executable file of the program you want to launch, or click on the program’s icon in the program manager and then click on “New” to add the program to the button bar.
When you run Stiletto, the program manager is automatically hidden. You can make it visible by choosing “Show” from the “Window” menu. You can also hide it by choosing “Hide” from the “Window” menu.
When Stiletto is minimized, the program manager icon is automatically placed in the top left corner of your desktop, and the button bar appears to the bottom of the screen. The button bar is always centered over any window which is maximized. You can change the position of the button bar by clicking on it and dragging it to another corner of your screen, or by selecting the “Default button bar” menu option.
When Stiletto is running in full screen mode, a shortcut menu is displayed above the active window. The top entry is always “Command Window”, and you can access commands that you define in the system.ini file.

Commands:
You can assign any key combination or keystroke to a command from the menus or the keyboard tray.
To assign a key to a command, open the Menu bar (if the button bar is not showing) or the Keyboard tray (for the laptop), and select the key from the key list.

Notes:
You can use drag and drop to move programs to the button bar, or you can drag programs from the command list.
You can also drag programs from the command list to a button bar, and you can drag them to the top of a button bar or desktop.
