Nowadays, broadband speed testers are available, practically, everywhere. Most users prefer to check their speeds with online tools, as it's the quickest and cleanest way to go about it. If the online tools don't cut it and you'd prefer a desktop-based tool, Speedtest might be worth a try.
Clean interface
Speedtest comes with a simple, elegant user interface which has no toolbars or other hidden menus. The only elements on the table are a speed gauge and a graph that would let you see the speed fluctuations.
Check the download and upload speed
Being a speed tester, the only information you'll get from Speedtest will be the download, upload speed, and ping.
Upon starting a test, the download speed will be the first thing measured. This is marked on the graph with a blue line. After the DL speed is analyzed and a result is provided, the upload speed will be the next in line. Follow the upload speed results by checking the purple line.
Display the results only
Besides the main UI, Speedtest can be constricted into a floating layout, no bigger than the system tray. The transition between the UIs can be done by simply closing the app, as the program is not fully closed, but only shrunk. perfect for when you need to keep a  keen eye on the speed fluctuation but you don't have the space for the full interface.

Speedtest is a basic tool designed to analyze your broadband speed directly from your desktop. For those interested in store apps, the application can be found in the Microsoft Store as well. One final thing you should be aware of is that this tool is based in China, so if you are not within their server range, you might not get very accurate results.
