I am trying to remove a substring from a sentence.
I have an input like:
sentence = “The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog”

I want to replace the word “dog” with “DOG” and delete “and” from the sentence. So I want the output to be :
sentence= The quick brown fox jumps over DOG

I tried using re.sub but it does not work well. I am using this:
print re.sub(r'(dog)’, ‘DOG’, sentence)

The output I get is:
DOGbdfnksv

I want the output to be:
The quick brown fox jumps over DOG
