The FSMax application is a server stress testing tool that finds buffers overflow of DOS points in a server. This tool is based on the DosPoints2 script. It can parse the script file and run multiple types of tests. These tests include:

FSMax usecase:
A typical test script file could contain one or more tests. The general syntax could be:
host [ip address] [port] [min] [max]
where host is host name and ip address is ip address. The number of parameters that follow host can be modified:
host [ip address],[port],[min],[max]
For a single test scenario, the syntax could be:
host [ip address] [port],[min],[max]
If a test case contains multiple host, then ip address is required and default host is given.
In the following, we will show how to run one of our sample test case. For the details of other test cases, see the help file.
Sample test case 1
host 10.30.1.1, 1, 5, 10
On execution, FSMax will send a GET request to the server using ip address 10.30.1.1 at port 1. The number of DOS points will be from 5 to 10. Each dos point carries in its payload 100 bytes of user input.

This is a DOS tool for checking for buffer overflows in a Linux TCP/IP server.
Requirements
This tool requires a “Net/2” or greater TCP/IP server on a Linux or Unix based system. This tool is capable of testing Ethernet and IP PPP connections. In some cases this tool will test inetd connections as well.
Compatibility
This tool is supposed to be a CLI tool. Its intended to be used interactively, with “fsmax”. Therefore, you must only give the option of “fsmax” or “fsmax”. “fsmax” refers to the name of the FSMax application, whereas “fsmax” refers to the command line of FSMax. If you specify the script file name, “fsmax” will always read from stdin.

FSMax Error Report
This program has been developed on a Solaris OS/2 machine. Therefore the Solaris codepage’s cannot be represented in this tool. For this reason the command line of this tool is in the default C/ASCII codepage.

The FSMax application was developed as a scriptable, server stress testing tool. This tool takes a text file as input and runs a server through a series of tests based on the input. The purpose of this tool is to find buffer overflows of DOS points in a server.
Warning: The script file must be terminated by double carriage return, or you will get a script failure error when running FSMax.
