with their unique abilities, each character can be individually equipped with a variety of weapons, from pistols and rifles to a variety of melee weapons and even an assortment of explosive traps and grenades. when you think of left 4 dead, the first thing that comes to mind is a co-op survival horror game. the fast pace, characters and the campaign mode make it one of the most anticipated games of the year.
the campaign mode was one of my personal favorites and allowed you to play any of the four character from over the entire storyline. there is a reason to get each of them, so it is nice to play each of them. while the campaign was not very long, there were opportunities for players to take control of all four characters in an all-out rescue scenario. there was also an online multiplayer mode where you could play through the story with up to three other players. also, it was nice to have a player controlled camera that allowed you to take control of the camera, zoom in and out, and take pictures of the environment. it was nice to set it all up before going into the game. left 4 dead 2 is now based on the goldsource engine, which is a much more advanced game engine than the one used in the original game.
one aspect of left 4 dead 2 that is pretty fun is the fully capable weather system. several objects break apart or loose their material and become floating in the air, which could rain down on the player. as long as you survive through that, you will need to kill the infected to remove the obstacles. enemies can hide on the rooftops or the walls of buildings, as well as in the ventilation ducts. the environment is a very claustrophobic environment, making it much more challenging to survive than in left 4 dead. the environments are in deplorable condition, making the scenario more terrifying and unnatural.
