Total War: Shogun 2Tercos (or Tercios) were the elite armored cavalry of the Kingdom of Portugal from the early 17th through the mid 19th centuries. Tercos (or Tercios) were used by both the Portuguese and Spanish and were the primary cavalry forces of each. The main difference between the Portuguese Tercos and Spanish Tercios was that the Portuguese Tercos used an older system of polearms while the Spanish employed a more modern form of musket and bayonet.
