GETTING STARTED WITH A FREE VERSION OF PHOTOSHOP
You can make a version of the book using your new tablet PC and Photoshop CS4 by downloading the trial version of Photoshop. This free trial version has basic, low-resolution editing tools and doesn’t offer the capability for creating digital content, such as graphics. To download the free Adobe Photoshop trial, visit `www.adobe.com` and select the free download tab for Windows.
From the Adobe software download page, select the download tool and specify your computer model. (You’ll find the list of recommended models in the box above.) Download and run the installer. You should receive the following prompt once installed:
The free version of Photoshop, the Creative Suite, is pre-configured with the standard tools. Photoshop CS4 provides the basic tools and tools commonly used in image editing. You can download and print the files for your version of Photoshop, which will enable you to create your own version of the book. You’ll need a computer capable of running Windows XP or Windows Vista. To print the files, choose File⇒Print from within Photoshop.
You can, of course, do your photo retouching in the free version of Photoshop but without the ability to create or edit content, which is available in the full version of Photoshop.
Creating your own version of the book
Photoshop is an extremely powerful software package, with many options and tools. The program is quite complex but there are many great tutorials on how to use Photoshop’s features to be able to achieve some great results. Check out the Resources section of this book, and other online sources to download and learn how to use Photoshop CS4 to create your own version of the book.
Before you start, set up your computer for the exclusive use of Photoshop and save your Photoshop files on your computer. We recommend that you have a desktop with ample drive space for working on the book.

# Hello, Photoshop!
**Photoshop’s interface is very simple. All tools are in the lower portion of the screen, and the view is always the same. There’s no need for an introduction or instructions about how to use it.**
# Exploring Photoshop’s tools
Photoshop’s tools are color-coded, which is why they are always shown to the right of the active layer. Many of these tools work on everything within the viewable screen area of the canvas.
1. **Click the large image of the sun right above the list of tools to access the brush tools (Figure 7-1″)**.

Hodge said he went back to what he liked watching in the VFL when his coaching career started.
“I loved Hawthorn in the first year and Footscray in the second year,” he said.
