      Game Narrative

      Since the day our world was divided in two by the great war, Ragnak Vail was transformed into a prison planet for the enemies of the gods.
      More than a thousand years later, Ragnak Vail is now the chief of this prison planet, the home of the god Emperor.

      Ragnak is an artificial lifeform, created by a benevolent race of aliens called the Shepherds to help them fight an endless war with the Emperor’s sworn enemies, the orcs.
      The Shepherds created a biome they called Purgatory and built artificial lifeforms to guard and keep the peace.

      However, the Shepherds made a mistake when they brought the Ragnak Vail to Purgatory.
      The Ragnak Vail consumed all the oxygen and water, transforming the planet into a prison.
      The Shepherds are still fighting the orcs from the surface, while the Ragnak Vail is locked in a self-contained environment with no way to access the surface of the planet.

      The Ragnak Vail is the prison planet of the god Emperor. It houses a thousand years of prisoners and their descendants, among them the orcs.

      The inhabitants of the Ragnak Vail have evolved over the course of the years. The prisoners, enslaved by the Emperor, have become a free and active society that has developed many unusual skills and weapons.

      You play a warlock who came to the Ragnak Vail to fight for freedom. You are the only one who might be able to release the Ragnak Vail from it’s prison.

      You don’t have to fight alone. Every time you win a battle, there will be a survivor who will join you, making up a party of three.

      There are two modes of play:

      Multi-play: Computer against all players with a different computer for each.

      Single play: Computer against computer with the computer’s intelligence increased in increments.

      The idea of the game is to form an army of ships and attack an enemy base. Of course, the enemy may attack you in return and this is why the game has a ‘one minute in war’ mode so that you can use those rare short periods of time during a single battle to plan and evaluate the battlefield and adjust your strategy accordingly.

      The last player to be left in control of the enemy base is the loser.

      To create your own army you design your pieces and then buy them one by one from the shop until you have enough. All your ships can move, attack, dock, heal, use weapons, and a few other things but not all ships are able to do all these things and many have slightly different attributes so it takes a little time to find out which ships are best for you.

      When you dock, you can take control of the dock area which lets you build new ships and do repairs.

      The ships have several ways of moving around: straight, turn, turn back, go forward, move through a barrier etc. some of them move in small spaces, others need only a few paces and some are incapable of movement. Sometimes you will see a ship have ‘admiral’ ability and this lets you use various special commands. All the ships can dock at a shipyard, be repaired, or attack the enemy base.

      The game can be paused and you can then see where all the ships are on a world map. The world is divided into 200 sectors each with a particular type of landscape and resource availability. You have to decide where you want to build your base, which is generally the first sector you reach, and which of the sectors you want to build your factory in, and which you want to attack.

      When you attack a base, it is an attack in game-time and the two players take part in it together. Usually, if one player is only half way through a turn, the computer will decide that it has enough spare CPU power to help out and become part of the attack. If you are successful, you gain one enemy ship and you can then build a factory in that sector and refit one of your ships to bring it up to the standard of the shipyard you just constructed.
