Microsoft Security Essentials Beta

We have to say that Microsoft Security Essentials beta (MSET – short for Microsoft Security Essentials Beta) is a very good start. We really like the UI and the ease of using it once you’ve been initiated. In fact, MSET beta looks quite a bit like Win10, especially in the start menu, and it all makes sense. It’s populated with plug-ins, but only a few are immediately visible so you know which of those to click to find the rest.

For more information about this new beta release of Microsoft Security Essentials, the following overview provides an overview of the new beta. This new release is divided into two parts. The first is the install and the second is the startup guide. After that is the quick start guide. There are four types of pages and each offers different information.

The first type of content appears on the Welcome Page which is the first page you see when you click the MSET beta button on the Start menu. Here, you will find two links: Get started now and then take it slow. The first offers the link to MSET beta and the second offers how to download and install the program.

The second type of content is the Main Content Page. The Main Content Page contains the new UI shown in the screenshots and the typical content (more below) found on all the pages.
