Karteset is the perfect personal information manager (pim) software application – use it as a simple Rolodex, or a more complicated card index program, using categories to sort your text cards.
The main window shows the available cardfile files. Choose one of the available files and press . The program will start a new file with the name and path of the selected cardfile. You can now decide if you want to edit or insert the new file.
If you are starting with a blank cardfile, simply click . If you already have an existing cardfile you want to use, select “Edit file” from the “File” drop down menu. You can now rename the file or add/delete/edit new files. To insert a file you have just created, select the drop down menu to choose “In File”, or you can choose to “Insert File” which simply inserts it at the current cursor position.
To delete a file, simply press .
Cards can be edited or inserted using the “Cards” menu at the top of the screen. By default you will see the six card types listed. To add or remove a new card type simply click on the “+” or “-” button and the menu shown on the right will expand to show you the list of available cardtypes. To edit the properties of an existing card, double click on it.
The window above the cards lists the files in the current cardfile. The properties will be set based on the file selected in the bottom right corner of the window.
To add a file, simply double click on it and the file will be added to the current file. To remove a file, simply double click on it again and the file will be removed. The file will not be removed from the file directory.
When files are added, they will automatically be sorted into a menu depending on the chosen cardtype. When files are sorted, the cards are updated to reflect the new sorting.

The download is one file which contains EXE, MacOSX, Installer, Binaries and Source code. You can install it using an installer for Windows (and MacOSX) or double click on it to run on Mac.
