how to remove right portion of characters in a cell in python

I have imported a text file into a pandas dataframe, with the column headers being ID, Name, State, City.
For example:
ID | Name | State | City
1 | Robin | California | Burbank
2 | Rick | New York | Central

I want to do is change/remove the right portion of the string. I want it to look something like this:
ID | Name | State | City
1 | Robin | California | Burbank
2 | Rick | New York | Central

Basically, I want the right portion of the string to start at the end of the string so that it would be in it’s original position.
I’ve been experimenting with.pop(10) however I keep getting an error that it won’t work on a pandas dataframe.

s = s.rsplit(“|”, 1)[0]
print(s)

The result is:
1 | Robin | California | Burbank

ps: because all elements of df are str, so you have to cast them to str in the first line.

Difference between two time stamps

I have two time stamps, declared as follows:

and the start time is -500 and end time is -88. What I need to do is compute how many milliseconds have passed since the start time, and compare the difference to the end time. I’m essentially trying to get the difference in milliseconds between the 2 NSDate objects.
This is what I have so far:
