plot. recently crowned queen elsa and her younger sister anna have just received their parents’ inheritance. soon, their sudden wealth places them squarely in the midst of modern-day denver. although recently engaged, anna is still a bridesmaid, and the celebration leaves her feeling underdressed, as the wealthy townspeople spend their own money on her outfit. when her gown in full, anna wanders away into the night to visit her beloved grandmother, whose birthday party she had promised to attend.
elsa, however, has been affected by the absence of her beloved sister. dreaming of the mysterious voice that comforted her in her isolation as a child, she finds herself in a strange frozen world where she has to learn how to control her powers, and the magic she now wields is anything but simple. forced to work with a strange snowman, kristoff, a reindeer named sven, and anna’s fellow outcast snowboarding best friend, olaf the snowman, elsa must unlock her powers and use them to save the frozen kingdom of arendelle.
review. for an animated sequel, frozen 2 certainly felt like it was made very well. every animator contributed to the film, and they created a distinct feeling that was a step above the previous film. set on the other side of the mystical frozen world from the first film, the sequel begins with a young-looking elsa looking out her window and seeing a young man dressed like kristoff from the tangled movie. as we see more of the young man, we learn that his name is howard lovecraft. we also find out that he is a college student, and he is walking into the college gym to study. he runs into an unseen elsa in the air, and he is frightened as she is obviously flying very fast. anna is also there, with her sister, and anna distracts elsa so that howard lovecraft can run away. in a moment of her weakness, elsa accidentally uses her powers to freeze her home in an ice storm and causes an accident. during the accident, howard lovecraft finds himself inside the real world after meeting a snowman, and he is inspired by a night spent in the “frozen world”.
