firebreather, an anime inspired 2010 tv movie, was inspired by the eponymous cartoon. here’s a short synopsis:
a city is built over the ancient ruins of what is now japan. an age old monster, called a kaiju, has been lurking in the sub-sea tunnels of this city. now, duncan is a young teenager, who can barely pay attention to his schoolwork and his friends. he is eventually picked on by the popular girls, especially his ex-girlfriend, claire, who laughs at him behind his back. claire’s older brother, matt, is only too happy to set him up for the possible rejection and possible heartbreak. matt, obsessed with proving himself in front of his “brother” now that duncan is still together with claire, pursues duncan to a place where he could foil his plans. all of this while his own brother, mike, is a bigger, stronger, and way, way scarier monster.
this is a tv movie that could turn into a bad thing for the guys of the bill comic series. this is a comic book you know bill has a skeleton crew so this will be a tough one for a tv movie to do justice.we get to see the world from the perspective of these normal people being dragged into the super powered world so this is definitely the most easter eggs that have been put in this also hope they don’t kill off any major characters because i want to watch a half naked bill rape his way thru 80s.
if you are a fan of reading and enjoy great action movies with human characters go watch this movie with your family. the special effects and the cg is great but the story line has some holes in it but not too bad.this is not an over the top, over the top action flick it is a thoughtful action flick that doesn’t miss out on any of the hilarity of the bill comic universe.this is a good popcorn movie, good family movie.i have no idea what i am talking about this is just based off the trailers.
