FontUtils is a command line utility package designed to facilitate work with TrueType fonts on Windows platforms. It has the following functions:
Generate a font name from a font file.
Extract a TrueType font family name from a font file.

Read a file with the character sets to create script file.

FontUtils Usage:
There is no installation procedure. Simply run the pre-compiled executable. The main logic is in the script and command line arguments. The Perl interface to the script is optional (some functionality is not available), but makes it a more useful tool. Below is a screen shot of FontUtils in action on a TTF file (note that the tool name has been removed to hide the perl interface).

I’m sick of comissioning and selling parts which are not compatible with each other.
The script version is fine but an introduction of the module in cpanm would be great.

Whilst I must admit to having no experience with Autotools, and the scripts providing the best insight here, I can’t help feeling that this is somehow a missed opportunity.
I think a significant part of the usefulness of TTF::Scripts is the compatibility and interoperability between the various scripts. Cpanm looks like it solves some of this, but it still

So far we have included scripts for:
– Reading the font data in the xref section
– Creating and converting TrueType fonts
– Generating sample text of a given font
– Comparing a font file to a reference font file
– Copying a font to a new filename
– Converting and identifying a TrueType font from an outline in either XREF or FONTDATA format (this step is normally not necessary, unless the font is not already in one of these formats)
– Concatenating and merging TrueType fonts
– Enumerating all TTF font tags (or extracted family)
– Measuring the size of font data
– Enumerating and extracting text strings from a TrueType font
The scripts have been tested on Windows 2000 and XP and should work in any recent version of Perl.
FontUtils History:
The script FontUtils have been available in Perl for a number of years, and are the foundation for a number of other scripts by the same author (Arie Hasman). In fact, the scripts FontUtils::TTF::TTFCanvas and FontUtils::TTF::Scripts are basically the same as scripts available in one of the earlier Perl versions.
In 2007, these scripts have been slightly modified and re-released as the Windows executables FontUtils and FontUtils::TTF. In the past year we have added a number of new features and improvements to these scripts, resulting in a more robust and featureful tool.
Remember, these are scripts that will not work out of the box for most users. To get the most out of them, you will need to know the difference between writing fonts for Windows and for Macintosh or Linux. This distinction is not that important for the scripts, but we have included this brief overview to help you in your quest.

FontUtils contains a variety of TTF scripts for manipulating TrueType fonts, derived from work done at NRSI.
The utility can create fonts, change font sizes, swap between embedding and out-of-band formats, intermix fonts of different scripts, and extract and build font lists.
Originally written by Michael G. Simons, and then later updated by John Kellerman and Kip Felts, the tools (and supporting library package Font::TTF) have been available to Perl users for a number of years, and they are an essential tool of NRSI’s font development processes. For Perl users the most up-to-date sources can be retrieved from our Subversion repositories.
Now these scripts have been packaged as standalone Windows executables, making them usable by those who do not have Perl.

Andrew Sizemore have roughly the same name, either you’ll want to remove the “tab” and “space” or you can do a search and replace for “tab” with a space (and vice versa for “space”).
For example, if the table name is “heading” you can do this:
To move the table to the end of the file
Trim leading and trailing whitespace on each line
Apply the styles listed above in sequence
Save the file and then
Rename the table name
I suggest you don’t do it in the Preview pane, so don’t say anything stupid like “trim leading and trailing whitespace” if you want to make the file render properly.
Do it in the document window, and save it with the new name.
Warning – DON’T FORGET TO RENAME THE OBJECT
