Gameplay

In Tarnished: the Elder Tales, you play as a level 1 apprentice of Elhold. The story takes place in the Lands Between, a fantasy world full of open fields, massive dungeons, and various quest-like goals that gradually fill in the basic story.

As you travel through this fantasy world, you will encounter many types of monsters; you can find them in the form of plots in various locations and open fields. It is up to you to determine what your goal is by setting various quests on your path of progression and leading your party to complete them.

You can set quests such as traveling to a certain destination, visiting a specific location, obtaining a key item, or finding a person. Depending on your objectives, you can choose various route and equip your party with quests items and special types of equipment to fulfill your objective. Your progress through your journey is reflected by the in-game rating, which increases for each quest that you complete.

Taking into account what you do in each quest, you can develop your character according to your play style. You can increase the strength of your party members, learn powerful melee attacks, and master different types of magic.

You must be careful not to run out of health potions, as you can use them to replenish the team members’ HP. You can even increase your strength by jumping with them. There are various quests related to strength, and depending on your play style, you can increase your strength and select various party members for battle.
