Cannot Create Steam Api.dll Black Ops 2 Fix
if your steam api file is corrupted, how do you fix it? well, you first need to find your steam_api.dll file, generally it is housed in a folder known as sdkdata in the steam installation directory. this can be found on the hard drive by selecting this location with a computer file explorer or by the command prompt line (note that, in later windows versions, not all programs support the command prompt and the file explorer often works better). if you cant find the steam_api.dll file, then you shouldnt even try as it most likely wont work.
once you have located the file, you need to be sure to replace it with a genuine copy of the steam_api.dll file. if you only have a 32 bit steam_api.dll file, then you will need to convert it to a 64 bit file (we will get to that later). you will need to do a bit of a bit of file integrity checking to be sure that the file is valid and that the files are all actually there. these are just some of the things that you can do to help, but its always advisable to be sure that everything is in order. you can do this easily by right-clicking on the file in windows and selecting the properties option. from here, you will need to locate a tab labeled general where you can see if the file is actually there. if the file says that it isnt there, then you should try to recreate it. youll need to locate your steam installation directory, which can generally be found by going to the start menu and selecting your steam install location. generally this is located at documents\my games\steam\steamapps\common\call of duty black ops cold war\ or the one after this folder if you have multiple steam installations. once in this folder, you need to locate a subfolder known as sdkdata where you will be able to locate the steam_api.dll file that we are after. note that you are generally not able to move this folder from place to place, just copy it or move it from place to place. once in this folder, you can right click on the file and select properties to check the integrity of the file. if the file is corrupt, then it is best to recreate it.
