Whew, ok, I’m going to be blunt here. I’m going to tell you that I have absolutely no idea what a WYBS game is, because I’ve never even seen one. That’s not to say I don’t know what they are, because I absolutely do, I just don’t understand what they do. My ignorance stops at the very beginning of the game when it says, in big flashy letters that at times I had to read twice because I just couldn’t believe it:

Must Die! is a roguelike twin-stick shooter featuring a randomly-generated deathmatch level and a heavy emphasis on lateral movement. Stricken by some hideous plague, players must band together to survive in a world where reality has become twisted and insidious.
