Stranger Things fans upset the final season may not be out until 2025

Stranger Things is one of Netflix’s most successful series of all time – but fans have been left outraged after learning that its final season may not hit the streaming platform until 2025.

The uproar was sparked after a popular Stranger Things insider account on Twitter, called Stranger News, shared a picture of a fan art poster, which was made by artist Axel Almiron, and stated in their tweet that: ‘The end is coming. 2025.’

Almiron’s poster, which features an image of central character Will Byers (played by Noah Schnapp) seemingly stirred up a swathe of excitement among dedicated followers of the show – but that joy soon turned to horror when they spotted the date listed in the accompanying tweet.

Although Netflix has yet to announce an official premiere date for Stranger Things season five, many fans responded to the tweet in outrage, admitting that they had assumed they’d get their final fix of the show by the end of 2024.

Stranger Things fans have been left outraged after learning that the latest and final installment of the series might not debut until 2025

Fans were absolutely gutted to learn the premiere date for Stranger Things would not be for another two years.

‘2025?? That’s a bit of a joke,’ one fan tweeted angrily.

‘Are u serious?!!!!! No way, I can’t wait,’ another fumed, while a third wrote, ‘2025 is crazy imma be dead.’

Many viewers were outraged since it was last speculated that season five would drop next year.

‘I thought it was 2024!!!!!!!’ one exclaimed.

‘Wait what? 2025? Wasn’t it 2024 before, it must be very long season this time, about 40 or so episode,’ another wondered.

‘Brooooo you said 2024 several months ago (which was already a long time to wait) and now you say 2025 that’s too much,’ a third fumed. ‘In five months you will tweet and say that it’s coming in 2026.’

Some fans joked that the Hawkins kids will be all grown up by the time the season finally airs.

Fans were absolutely gutted to learn the premiere date for Stranger Things would not be for another two years

Many viewers were outraged since it was last speculated that season five would drop next year

‘Omg those kids are gonna be 30 by then,’ one quipped.

‘Of course the end is coming. The entire cast will be dying of old age by the time you get to release this,’ another teased.

Others, however, complained about the series’ continued pattern of delayed season release dates.

‘NOT 2025 WHY DO WE HAVE TO WAIT MULTIPLE YEARS FOR EACH SEASON??? ridiculous,’ one remarked.

‘Season four released in mid 2022,’ another noted. ‘How the f**k a series takes more than two years to release a new session when its a hit.’

But fans on the other side of the coin were quick to point out that the Writers Guild of America strike – which began on May 2 – is only just nearing its end with a tentative deal penned.

At the time, the show’s creators, the Duffer Brothers, tweeted to inform fans that the show’s filming would be put on pause until the strike had been resolved.

‘Duffers here. Writing does not stop when filming begins,’ they wrote on May 6.

Some fans joked that the Hawkins kids will be all grown up by the time the season finally aired

But fans on the other side of the coin were quick to point out that the Writers Guild of America strike – which began on May 2 – is only just nearing its end with a tentative deal penned

‘While we’re excited to start production with our amazing cast and crew, it is not possible during this strike. We hope a fair deal is reached soon so we can all get back to work. Until then — over and out.’

Soon after that announcement, SAG-AFTRA members announced that they were also going on strike, which left many of the stars of the show unable to film. That strike has yet to be resolved.

Therefore, filming – which the creative team has claimed will take a year – still hasn’t kicked off and then there is editing, which is also a time consuming process.

‘You guys need to understand with the filming, the strike, and the editing, it will take time,’ one user tweeted.

‘It’s writing strike problems. We can’t do anything about it. They can’t do anything about it. I will anticipate the wait and be ready when it comes!’ another noted optimistically.

‘All y’all who are like “omg 2025!!!” Y’all need to wake up. There’s been a strike for writers and actors and ain’t nobody has stared on this show yet,’ a third wrote.

They added: ‘Lucky if we get it in 2025. To be honest we’re looking at maybe early 2026. Filming takes a year and they still need to write the episodes!’

As for what to expect for season five, Matt Duffer has teased that the show will go back to its strong foundation formed in season one

Stranger Things star David Harbour also spoke about the upcoming season, teasing to Collider that he expects fans will have a lot to look forward to with the show’s final season

As for what to expect for season five, Matt Duffer has teased that the show will go back to its strong foundation formed in season one.

‘That’s what we anticipate and hope to do, which is to just to keep it contained in Hawkins. It’s going to feel a lot larger in scale than season one,’ he said on a 2022 episode of the Happy Sad podcast.

‘We want to go back to a lot of things we did in season one and a lot of the original groupings and pairings we had in season one.’

Stranger Things star David Harbour also spoke about the upcoming season, teasing to Collider that he expects fans will have a lot to look forward to with the show’s final season.

‘I know those Duffer brothers are very specific, and I know they want to get that last season,’ he shared.

‘I mean if you look at season four, I have a feeling that season five may not be as long, but it certainly will be packed to the brim with good stuff that you love.

‘I mean, they really are getting better at giving you that home run that the audiences love. And I think that season five will do that so much.’

Donald Trump Jr. arrives to take stand in father’s fraud trial

Donald Trump Jr. joked that he trusts accountants because ‘that’s why we pay them’ and distanced himself from financial statements at the center of the $250million fraud case when he took the stand on Wednesday.

The former president’s eldest son was grilled about his education, his work at his father’s company, and the jailed former CFO Allen Weisselberg during a grilling in the State Supreme Court on Wednesday.

When answering multiple questions, the 45-year-old said ‘I don’t recall’ and admitted that he ‘knows nothing’ about general accounting practices.

He also denied any involvement in the 2017 Trump Organization accounts prosecutors say are fraudulent.

Don Jr smiled as he entered the courtroom for his blockbuster testimony and joked ‘I should have worn makeup!’ as photographers took photos.

Prosecutor Colleen Faherty then asked if Don Jr. knew about GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and about his time at Wharton Business School.

The 45-year-old flashed a grin as he left the courtroom on Wednesday after testimony where he distanced himself from the payments at the center of the $250million fraud trial

Donald Trump Jr. leaves court after the judge asked him to stop talking so fast

Don Jr. said that ‘I understand what it (GAAP) stands for’ and that he studied it for ‘accounting 101, back in the late 90s’.

Asked if he knew anything else about GAAP, Don Jr. said: ‘That’s what I have CPAs (Certified Public Accountants) for.

‘I know nothing about GAAP and I’ll leave it to my accountants. That’s why I leave it to my accountants.

‘I relied on professionals and CPAs we pay millions of dollars (to). I rely on their opinions to make that assessment’.

Don Jr. talked the court through how he joined his father’s company shortly after the 9/11 attacks.

Donald Trump did not show up in court on Wednesday, but took aim at Judge Arthur Engoron in a post online which read: ‘Leave my children alone, Engoron. You are a disgrace to the legal profession!’

Don Jr’s first assignments for the family company included working on a development in the West side of Manhattan and he said that his job involved ‘anything and everything’.

He worked on Trump Park Avenue, a residential apartment block, and the Trump International Hotel in Chicago.

‘It was the tallest residential building in Chicago, (I did) design architecture, sales and marketing, finance, construction, you name it’, he said.

Don Jr. became an executive vice president for the Trump Organization, which he said put him on the same level as his brother Eric and sister Ivanka, but below his father.

He had to report to chief financial officer (CFO) Allen Weisselberg on some matters but on others he had ‘total autonomy’, he told the court

Faherty pressed him on why Weisselberg is no longer working for the Trump Organization – he was jailed in January for five months for tax evasion.

Don Jr, said that Weisselberg’s indictment was the reason why he stopped working for his father’s company.

When Faherty pointed out that Weisslberg was not fired, Don Jr, said he ‘didn’t know the exact details’ of his departure.

Faherty asked: ‘Did you ask him to leave?’

Don Jr, said: ‘I did not. I have no knowledge of the specifics of how it happened’.

‘I should have worn makeup!’ the 45-year-old joked as photographers took pictures of him while sitting at the bench with his lawyers

Donald Trump Jr. has arrived in New York to testify in his father’s $250 million fraud trial which could topple the family’s business empire in the city

Don Jr stares at the cameras in the courtroom before his testimony. He is the first of the members of the Trump family, including Ivanka, who are set to testify

Don Jr. waits to testify alongside Alina Habba, a member of Trump’s legal team

After an objection from Trump’s lawyer Alina Habba that the questioning was going down a ‘rabbit hole’, Faherty moved on.

Instead she asked if the elder Trump had any role in decision making at the Trump Organization between 2017 and 2021 when he was President.

Don Jr, said no, adding that since he left office his father has ‘made decisions’

The court was shown a power of attorney form that Trump signed in March 2017 giving Eric and Don Jr, authority to sign for him on certificates and other similar documents.

The document lists Trump’s address as 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue – the White House.

Don Jr, confirmed he signed it.

The document is key to the prosecution case as it shows that Don Jr, was the person who approved the Trump Organization’s financial statements which a judge has already ruled were fraudulent.

Eric Trump, who runs the Trump Organization, is due to testify after Don Jr., followed by Trump himself on Monday.

Trump’s daughter Ivanka is due to testify on Wednesday.

Prosecutors claim that Trump and his family falsely inflated and deflated the value of their assets to get lower taxes and better insurance coverage.

The trial is to determine the penalty, and the New York State Attorney General is seeking a $250 million fine and sanctions to effectively put Trump out of business in the state.

Before Don Jr’s arrival, the court heard from David Orowitz, a former Trump Organization Vice President overseeing a deal for the Old Post Office building in Washington.

Prosecutor Colleen Faherty then asked if Don Jr. knew about GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and about his time at Wharton Business School

Trump’s lawyer Alina Habba arrives at the court for testimony on Wednesday. The former president stayed away from proceedings

New York Attorney General Letitia James, who Trump has frequently attacked on Truth Social since the start of the trial, arrives on Wednesday to watch the case unfold

The court heard that Trump saved $168 million in interest on four properties over the past nine years from false financial statements given to lenders.

Michiel McCarty, an investment banker who was the prosecution’s banking expert witness, showed the court his analysis of four Trump properties: Doral, the Old Post Office, 40 Wall St in New York and a Trump hotel in Chicago.

They showed that Trump made millions of dollars each year from significantly lower interest rates which were awarded based on the bank relying on false financial information for the Trump Organization, the court heard.

Between 2014 and this year, Trump saved $72m in interest on the $125 million loan for Doral and $53 million on the $170 million loan for the Old Post Office.

He also allegedly saved $17 million on the $45 million loan for his Chicago hotel and $24 million on the $160 million loan for 40 Wall St in New York.

The analysis showed that the interest rates Trump paid were far lower than he should have done.

In 2015 Trump paid a 1.9 percent rate on the Doral loan but should have paid 10 percent, a graph of the loans showed.

That amounted to a $10 million saving that year on that property alone, the graph stated.

Donald Trump was at Mar-a-Lago for a party with wife Melania (left) and a list of friends and supporters on Tuesday night

Kimberly Guilfoyle, the fiance of Donald Trump Jr, beamed as she dressed up as Snow White at the event, seemingly relaxed as her partner is set to testify in New York on Wednesday

McCarty called Doral a ‘turnaround project’ that it would have required significant investment to turn it into the golf resort Trump had planned.

He is a former senior vice president of acquisitions and development at the Trump Organization who oversaw the development of Trump hotel the Old Post Office hotel in Washington then quit a day after it opened in 2016.

Orowitz had worked for Trump for eight years but the acrimony of the opening – which resulted in two restaurant deals falling apart and protests at the site – appeared too much for him.

After Don Jr, Eric Trump is expected to testify about allegations he provided false valuations for the Trump Organization’s estate in Westchester.

Ivanka was once a party to the lawsuit, but an appeal court dismissed her from the case as the state’s statute of limitations barred the claims against her.

Judge Engoron has ruled that Trump must sell some of his most famous buildings including 40 Wall St, but an appeal court has put it on hold until after the trial is complete.

Chris Eubank Jr exacts revenge against Liam Smith in their rematch

Chris Eubank Jr dramatically beat bitter rival Liam Smith with a sensational 10th-round stoppage in their grudge rematch, avenging his loss to the Liverpudlian here seven months ago.

Eubank, 33, sent Smith crashing to the canvas after one minute and 45 seconds of round 10 of a fight he largely dominated from start to finish with a stunning display of cool, calm and controlled boxing.

Eubank’s tactics were outstanding and this consummately professional, ruthlessly efficient and clinical display showed him at his very best.

Eubank had lost to Smith in a fourth-round stoppage here in January, so this was revenge at its sweetest and certainly no more than the Brighton man deserved.

Sadly, crowd trouble broke out on at least two separate occasions during the fight, with fans seen scrapping in the stands while in the ring Eubank was enjoying one of the finest hours of his career.

Chris Eubank Jr defeated Liam Smith in their highly-anticipated rematch in Manchester

The pair repeatedly clinched during the early rounds, with Eubank landing the better shots

Eubank Jnr was dominant throughout the highly-anticipated rematch in Manchester

Smith appeared to struggle with an injury to his left ankle but take nothing away from Eubank.

He was a worthy victor and surely not even Smith’s most ardent supporter would deny that.

A star-studded crowd included Derek Chisora and Joseph Parker, who fought out a titanic encounter here in December 2021 when the latter won to retain his WBO intercontinental heavyweight title.

Old adversaries Amir Khan and Kell Brook even conducted a joint interview at ringside prior to the main event in a show of mutual respect.

It was the first time they had crossed paths since they fought at this arena in February 2022, when former world champion Khan suffered a stoppage loss to Brook and subsequently retired.

Ex-world heavyweight champion David Haye and England footballers Jordan Pickford, John Stones and Conor Coady were also in the VIP seats.

When Eubank and Smith finally finally emerged for their ringwalks, it felt like they were entering a lion’s den.

As it was when Smith beat his bitter rival here in January, the Liverpudlian was backed by a large and vocal support from his home city.

Eubank had met a number of Manchester United players while they were on tour in Las Vegas this summer and he prepared for this fight there with new trainer Brian ‘BoMac’ McIntyre.

Marcus Rashford was among those to warn him not to lose to a Scouser again on Mancunian turf.

That made for a lighter build-up than when Smith and Eubank fought earlier this year, when Eubank questioned Smith’s fidelity and the Liverpudlian made innuendos about his rival’s sexuality.

With a VIP crowd in attendance, Eubank found a consistent home for his left uppercut

The shot put Smith on the canvas in the fourth round, but the Liverpudlian rose to his feet to fight on

Smith had appeared to struggle with an ankle injury for much of the fight on Saturday night

Despite the calmer preparations for this rematch, Eubank made a bold claim at Thursday’s press conference.

‘The performance will be exquisite, supernatural, a beautiful artistic display of savage boxing,’ he declared.

Eubank also mischievously told Smith ‘I’m definitely more intelligent than you, my friend’, prompting a fierce retort from his opponent..

Eubank was subjected to jeers as he made his way to the ring and even cocked both ears to the crowd to wind up his detractors.

Smith enjoyed a more favourable reception and a tight, tense and cautious opening round saw the Liverpool man land the first shot of the fight with a well-time uppercut.

Eubank began working his jab as both fighters began looking to hold, prompting the referee to briefly halt the action to speak to both fighters.

In the second round the fight began to move through the gears with less holding from both fighters and Eubank beginning to gain the upper hand, with Smith hitting the deck at the end of the round.

But it was a shove and not a knockdown, yet self-belief coursed through the veins of Eubank as the third round unfolded.

He used his jab superbly to put Smith on the back foot before connecting with a sweet uppercut and a punch to his rival’s body late in the round.

Eubank continued to dominate through the middle rounds, taking a wide lead on the scorecards

Smith was hesitant, and was unable to find success against his rejuvenated opponent

That Eubank was on top was undeniable – a stark contrast to their previous bout in January – and he continued to gain momentum.

In the fourth round, Eubank’s energy and conviction in his punching saw him knock Smith to the ground, the Liverpudlian losing his gumshield in the process.

It became a battering for Smith as the fifth round began as he took some serious, sustained punishment, Eubank unleashing a flurry of endless blows with his rival well and truly on the ropes.

Eubank at this point appeared set to sensationally finish Smith off but the older man somehow steadied himself when he could easily have buckled.

There was also a spot of crowd trouble in the stands shortly before the sixth round began, which saw Smith at least begin to stem the tide and stand his ground.

Credit to the Liverpool man, of course.

The pace of the fight began to tell on both fighters but Eubank cleverly kept working his jab in the seventh round.

Smith appeared to have injured his left ankle, hampering his movement, and Eubank ended the round strongly, landing more quick punches before the pair exchanged words as the round closed.

The onslaught continued into the championship rounds, with Eubank peppering Smith against the Ropes

The referee had seen enough in the tenth round, and stopped the fight shortly after Smith had been dropped for a second time

Eubank always appeared more and violence flared in the stands again at the end of the eighth round, a round when Smith again managed to keep his opponent at bay as the Brighton man kept his jab ticking over nicely.

In the ninth round, Eubank continued to look in little trouble with Smith, surely by now so far behind on points, needing a knockout to secure the win.

The 10th round saw Eubank again largely dominant, a fast and furious flurry of punches forcing the Liverpool man to the ground and leaving him with a bloodied face above his right eye.

Moments later, the fight was stopped as Eubank sent Smith crashing to the canvas, completing a staggering turnaround in fortunes for both men from their previous meeting.
