This version is being written in Visual Basic and uses only Win32 API calls.
It can easily be configured to remove other malicious software programs as well as certain worms and trojans which may have caused you trouble or which you may have downloaded without knowing it.
How does it work?
Well, there are two main ways in which Wimp will remove a virus from your system.
First of all, it can automatically scan your hard disk for the virus.
For this to work, you must first turn on “pervasive virus protection”. Wimp can do this automatically when it is run for the first time, or you can do it manually in the “Settings” sub-menu.
The first thing Wimp does is to scan your entire hard drive for the virus. While scanning, Wimp will delete all files it has detected to be infected with the virus.
After the virus has been found, Wimp will scan for it’s “parent code” (i.e. the worm, trojan or other malicious code that contains the virus code). This is done by searching for the virus’s main program code using the “Subroutine” library, in the same way a malicious file scanner would do.
If the virus has a “parent code”, Wimp will search for it’s executable file and delete it too.
This may seem like a lot of steps to scan your entire hard disk, but the point is, the virus that has been found must contain both the virus’s main program code and its executable file. If one of them is missing, it won’t be detected by Wimp.
However, the second way in which Wimp can remove a virus is by direct deletion of the virus file(s).
This is done automatically when Wimp detects the virus in question. Wimp will also scan for the virus’s parent code, but if it is not present, Wimp will delete the virus file by itself.
The programs I have listed below also contain a virus protection engine that can either be used by itself or in conjunction with Wimp’s virus scanning engine.
Why do I need it?
If you have ever lost valuable files and the only way you could retrieve them was to do a fresh reinstall of your system, you may have lost the files in the process.

Launched in 2010, the third movie of the Toy Story series made quite an impact in the worldwide box office, earning well over half a billion dollars in ticket sales alone. Toy Story 3 Windows 7 Theme is a nice collection of images that brings the characters of the animation to your screen.
The app is quite easy to handle, thanks to the intuitive interface and clean layout.
The theme comes with ten different pictures, each illustrating a character from the movie, such as Woody, Buzz, Mr. Potato Head and Jessie, to name just a few. All the wallpapers have a high resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, which means they should fit well on screens of all sizes.
If you don’t want to display any of the pictures, you can simply clear the checkbox next to their thumbnails in the Windows interface. Furthermore, randomizing their order is possible by enabling the “Shuffle” option from the interface.
The way the images fit to the screen can be changed as well, by choosing one of the available options, such as “Center”, “Tile”, “Stretch”, “Fill” and “Fit”. However, thanks to the high quality of the pictures, their quality shouldn’t be affected, regardless of the choice you make.
A time delay can be set for the theme. There are several presets available, varying from ten seconds and building up to an entire day. The pack also comes with a custom sound, taken from the movie, which can be heard when the theme is launched.
All in all, Toy Story 3 Windows 7 Theme is a great collection of wallpapers that should make the movie’s fans quite happy. Less experienced individuals should find it quite easy to handle, thanks to the task’s overall simplicity.
