i suppose i should mention the advantage itunes has over ghosttunes. yes, itunes is the standard, but the number one reason why consumers still purchase music in most cases is for convenience. in order to do that, itunes has to be cheap, easy to use, and have a great track selection. the idea of paying $12 for a full disc of the music you like seems like a good idea to me. however, i really do not see how this could compete with the $9.99 download option. we already have three competing formats, vinyl, stream and download, not to mention other mediums like cd’s, cassettes, and the good ole fashioned record. i personally think this is another way to get garth a few bucks more. i know that i wouldnt be all that interested if i had to pay $12 for every album i wanted to listen to. i have my stuff downloaded and i purchase the albums as needed. and if i am interested in a full album of an artist, ill most likely download it. i would see ghosttunes more as an extra source for garth. he makes far more selling dvds of his christmas concerts on his web site and to purchase them. so if it is an extension of that, ill be happy to support him.
