And with the type of aircraft you can also choose between a dozen different procedures, like for example short field take off, ILS approaches, ACAS 3, short field landing or even runway incursion with a visual approach. Overall, its an impressive addon, and I highly recommend it for anyone who flies 737-400s to 737-900s.

I think that its a good thing that the B737-800 gets big support: technical support, customer support and PMDG NGX support. F-A-E would have been the only manufacturer that would provide a decent support for the B737 and this is great to see. Oh, and the NGX includes one specific sound file which I wish we would have included: the Rolls-Royce RR4000 powerplant announcement. Why? Well, it starts when the APU is started, but its not the usual sound for that switch. And its not a warning sound, or anything like that. No, its a sound to denote the start of the powerplant. Unfortunately its not the default sound file and many people cant find that sound without a lot of searching. With the NGX I get this sound without searching. Yeeha.
If you are thinking about installing the add-on, I would like to add a note on upgrading. If you have the NGX installed on your system, the upgrade to PMDG NGX 2.1.1 means that you can remove the old add-on, and install the new one. But if you re-install the NGX 2.0, you will need to install the NGX 2.1.1 manualy. So, if you are thinking about installing the NGX, I would recommend that you first upgrade to NGX 2.1.1. Theres no disadvantage in upgrading from NGX 2.0 to 2.1.1, except that NGX 2.0 doesnt support NGX 2.1.1 features. But remember, you can still fly NGX 2.0 and all NGX 2.1 features as well. It just removes the NGX v2.1.x features, because thats not part of the current version number. If you have some problems after the upgrade, PMDG has some advice. IMPORTANT: Also notice that the PMDG B737-800 NGX will require additional files to work. They are provided in the downloadable files.
