The game is about the lives of three Japanese teens who investigate rumors of ghosts and other supernatural phenomena that end up being more real than any sensible explanation. Kurumi, Nao, and Sango explore the near-manic environment of the city for three days, while trying to find a way home. The three have various encounters, including a demonic tentacle, a killer cat, a dead tree, and four bodies buried under a lawn. It is impossible to know what lies on the other side of the door they are about to enter, but it seems evident that the authors were not afraid of being direct.
Worse yet, the developers make Yuuyami Doori Tankentai sound like one of the most exciting, but most terrifying experiences of their lives. The game’s mythos is set after a disaster. The characters just barely had it together after that event, but when one of their classmates goes missing, a group of friends split up to try to find the person. The members of the group try to overcome the struggle against a living ghost, all while struggling to keep their sanity.
