the roster has one of the best and most diverse lineups of wrestlers in the game. it has an incredible mix of talent, from top tier superstars to even lower echelon wrestlers. you can have full tag team bouts against the dream team, you can have a singles match with wrestling legends like christian cage, and theres something for everyone to enjoy in this game. wrestlers are appropriately depicted, with the usual slew of crazy entrances and highly animated moves. some of the moves look okay, and some are downright horrible. the polygonal wrestler models look just a little odd, and some of the animations are very stiff and unnatural, but the wrestlers movements actually look good.
the hardest thing about this game are the issues that occur with the collision detection system. characters jump, roll, and lean through each other with an unnatural collision detection system that doesnt really model anything realistic. the characters often end up looking like a ragdoll as their opponents are left sprawling on the floor. the lack of a visible damage system simply adds to the mayhem. at times, this game can be completely ridiculous. we saw a number of big shots and near falls be completely missed on some of the more athletic characters. on the flip side, you often see unreal amounts of damage dealt to characters. you have to be careful because a missed shot or a poor technique can cause damage. but theres also a sort of arbitrary element to the game where limbs will look jello-like when you perform moves that produce damage. its most obvious with wrestler such as the big show, who has a ripped side and a hat, which will be ripped completely off if he hits the floor wrong. all in all, you really cant figure out what works, and what doesnt work about the game. its really a conundrum and the simple lack of damage does not help matters either.
