Draftsman and the drafting program
The history of AutoCAD can be traced to 1982, when AutoDesk (later renamed Autodesk) was founded by John Walker and Charles Simonyi. In 1987, two developers at a small software company, in Seattle, created a drawing program that used the Microsoft Windows operating system and an interpreter that allowed the user to draw using the mouse. After they had written a draft program to a working stage, the founders of the company called on a friend named Michael Heimlich, who had been at IBM when they had first contacted him. Heimlich had been working at NLS Design Center, a company that supplied CAD systems and CAD operators to other CAD vendors. NLS had created an alternative drafting program for the IBM PC called “RIS” (Reality Induced Speculative), which was based on the ARIS 3D architectural computer-aided design package they had created for the company’s own architecture computers. Heimlich had also been working on an alternative to “RIS”, for IBM. The company turned out to be VDW-Sauron, a firm that specialized in making complete 3D drafting solutions for clients. The head of the company, Robert Morris, was already working on a project called “Larissa”, an auto-drawing program for the Macintosh platform. How to apply a polyline offset
I’m drawing a polyline with the last points drawn in the center of my viewport (40,40) and I need to offset the polyline. I’m looking for a way to shift the last line by a couple of pixels in X or Y.
I’m not looking for a way to do a custom offset but a way to apply an offset to the last line drawn.
This is what I’ve tried (in this case the polyline is a text).
