How to make sure a certain function is called only once an a given element exists?
I will explain by way of exemple. In my project I have a dictionary, let’s call it context, with some variables in it. I also have a function which retrieves some context from an external website and saves it to the context object. It is done upon pressing a button.
When I do it, sometimes the external API is not ready to save the context to the context object. So I make a function in which I check if the object exists and if it is a null object it actually creates it.
This work fine when the button has to be pressed only once and the loadData() function can be called. However, I want to simulate a crash in the loadData() function by missing the second call.
Everything works fine up to here; I miss one case which is not a programatic glitch. So, if the function loadData is called for the first time with n parameter = 0, everything is fine. However, the second call with a parameter > 0 (to load some extra data and/or try to resolve the previous error) breaks the program.
