The Apex games are a beautiful addition to our downloads and similar to the NES game ROM Mega Pack, the Apex download and install process is a painless experience, thanks. Our review is on a different platform, but if you are not careful, the experience can be rewarding, although that is not always the case.
Likes:
While the Apex games are not typically considered high scores like, say, Call of Duty, or even Half Life, let alone the FPSs like Titan, it is nice to have a few games that have a reputation to uphold. This is a pack of 3 classic 3D shooters. Initially, the complete MEGA pack was announced as having 8 games in it, but now there are only 3 that you can download for free.
You can download the games as you might download free-to-play games, and they come with gamefaqs links to get any help you may need with the game. My family and I were able to download the games easily, and it was a very easy process. I think the design of the download screen is familiar to both iOS and Android users. It is sleek and easy to use and navigate. The games were easily downloaded and installed with no issues.
Dislikes:
The MEGA pack is not all that much of a MEGA pack. The games within the pack are OK, but I don’t care for the tiered community setup, because I just want my games.
As the Mega Packs forum post says, the MEGA pack can be a launcher/client only. This is not necessarily a negative though. Some like the MEGA pack because it links to launchers so you can use it with games like The Void. On the contrary, this MEGA pack is a standalone launcher, and if you are trying to install or purchase games, you are going to have to install a launcher first.
While more games can be added for free, those downloads are only for those that are already being used to install for free. Those who want to start paying money for the Apex games can do so with a credit card or PayPal, but they will have to use the direct download button.
Wish List
Since there are only 3 included in the MEGA pack, I would like to see a few more featured in the pack. Perhaps a Mega Pack with half a dozen more games could be a great idea, but the current pack is still fun and
