3. by editing the master tempo via the midi channel. the tempo can be dragged to the right or left to adjust it.

in each velocity layer, the velocity of the notes can be adjusted. each velocity layer has its own version of the tempo. to have a speed range of the duration that you have selected, you can easily make multiple velocity layers.

press the spacebar to play one of the velocities. each time you press the spacebar, the velocity that you selected will play.

clicking the spacebar without any velocity will play the first velocity layer, double clicking the spacebar without any velocity will play the second velocity layer and so on.

there are additional velocity layers. they are stored, so if you select one of them again, the part will play at the corresponding speed and not at the first speed that you selected. so you can play a verse and then follow with a chorus at a higher speed or vice versa.

the poly-sustained chants are vocal with enveloped grooves and harmonic shapes. you can set 4 different legatos for each poly-sustained chant. these legatos are triggered by the same velocity graph, but have different rhythm patterns. to set the legatos, you can use the ‘r’ (repetition) option.

the singing was recorded with 3.1 vector microphones. each one of these microphones has a wide stereo image. while each microphone has a specific attitude, there are 2 additional microphones which give the kontakt engine new possibilities for recording and manipulating the choir. the microphones were recorded at the same time in the same room with the choir. the only difference is that, depending on the position that you put the microphones in, you can get different results. the microphone position is also reflected in a z-axis. it is the second microphone from the floor, which gives us a better imaging in that position. with that information, we could very accurately blend all the microphones into one stereo image. this gives us with the possibility to use all the recorded ambiences from all the microphones.
